The sour candy helps to mask the bitter taste the patients get when having their ports flushed which is often. Sometimes, several times a day depending on treatment.
Reagan once described the taste as "hot dog water" so he found sour candy helps mask it and get them through the flush.
Note: Candy must be indivudally packaged.
