Children battling cancer make not only frequent hospital visits, but they also make frequent clinic visits. Some visit as many as 2-3 times a week. The visits can include blood draws, chemo or blood and platelet transfusions.
Visits can often be difficult for our little fighters, so to help make these visits just a little easier, we provide a treasure box full of goodies. Kids look forward to digging through the box to select a prize at these visits.
The candy bin is full of sour candy which kids love to chew on during port flushes. It helps to mask the taste of the heparin flush and prevent nausea.
